See, Brandy? :-P

Welcome to my cousin, rumusar (aka Levi).

I leave on Thursday for Lexington, KY! I'm extraordinarily thrilled.

I'm healing fairly well after my accident, although my back is still giving me some trouble. That might mean no ice-skating for me... Bummer (although, I should probably be happy, considering how terrible I am at it).

Well, that's really all I have to say. I am a horribly boring person.

yes, i am still alive...

i cut a ton of people from my list. it was getting way too long! however, if you would like to be added back, just let me know!

i'm keeping busy, working 2 jobs and going to school full time tends to do that.

at MTC we've been using some ManPower people, which has been interesting! some of them are just great (and yes, brandy, you're included there), and others could use quite a bit of work!

this stupid chest cold won't go away. grr. other than that, i've got little to say. i hope you're all well!

Mood: tired

my, oh my! what a weekend i had! on thursday i was talking to my friend leigh online. she is a very sweet girl, and i used to know her better, when we were younger and went to the same congregation, but then i switched congregations and we grew apart. well, recently i have been getting in touch with more and more old friends, and leigh is one of them. well, anyways, we were talking and she asked me if i was going to the atlanta "prom" (a large formal church gathering). i told her that i wasn't planning on it, mainly because i didn't have a ride. she offered right away, and i told her i would talk to my parents and think about it. well, mom and daddy said it would be a good idea---they thought it would help me get my mind off of some other things--so i told her i would, and set out with my mother that night to find a dress for me to wear. after that was done (and after meeting some wonderful ladies while trying things on, who just made my day!) we went home to pack. i slept in on friday, and then headed out to meet leigh, cara (leigh's sister), and stephanie (another friend) with my brother ben (what a blessing from the Lord my older brother is!). we ate at arby's, and had a great time. then around 6:10 the girls and i headed off to karen's house (another galpal in the church) down in louisville (as a point of reference, i live in central indiana, so it was about a 3 1/2 hr. drive).

we had a wonderful car ride down there, talking, singing, etc. then when we arrived at karen's we all got settled. leigh and i were in one room, and karen, stephanie, and cara were in the other. well, we (leigh and i) planned on getting sleep, but we started talking, and before we knew it it was time to get up (2:30, there were 5 of us who needed to shower, and we needed to leave at 4:30). so we did not get a wink of sleep that night, and poor leigh had to drive 8-9 hours down to atlanta!

we left at 4:30 to head to the winner's house (mrs. winner, a minister's wife, was leading our caravan--did i ever mention just how much i hate caravaning?). we got there at 5:15, and left there at 5:30. i was not comfortable falling asleep in the car, for fear leigh would, not because she was a bad driver, but just in case. plus, it didn't help that mrs. winner was going over 90 mph the whole way there! it was horrible, and quite scary actually! well, i won't go into details, because i am afraid our whole car was a bit upset at the way mrs. winner was leading the group, but i do not wish to be unChristian.

we arrived 30 min before services, and i got to see lots of old friends, but i am afraid i was so tired, and had a rather bad headache--so it wasn't that much fun, and i wasn't able to get as much as i would have liked to out of the sermon. after church we decided to skip dinner and go back to the hotel to get a quick nap before we had to get ready. then we got ready and went to the dance.

the dance itself was alright, but i don't think it was quite worth 12 hours of driving. it was great to fellowship, and see friends... but i was so tired, i don't think i was as social as i would have liked! toward the end of the evening we (most of my group) were quite slap happy... and i'm sorry to say there were some helium incidents... on of which contained me singing mary had a little lamb in a helium voice... at the top of my lungs... good thing the music was so loud! :-) needless to say, i needed much more sleep!

we though about going out with some friends to grab a bite to eat afterwords, but we were too tired... so we went to sleep, got up and headed back at 9:00 sunday morning. and i have been horribly tired ever since.

basically, i am glad i went, if for no other reason than that it gave me a chance to get to know leigh, cara, and stephanie better, but the dance itself was not worth it.

PTL that we all got home safely, and that God's hand was on us all the way!

alright. here is what is going on.

i have left the academy. it was completely my choice, and there is a slight chance i will change my mind, but remember the chance is slight. j

i was not happy there this year, i will miss all of my friends, and i love you all. the reason i left was purely because of my health. i am still suffering from my migraines, and they will not let up. it is hard to do as well as i am used to doing in my classes, and it is very hard to feel at home in a place where i am always ill.

i am either going to go back to avon for the last trimester or i am going to graduate right away and focus on getting my health back in order. i will be going to another college (NEVER AGAIN BALL STATE!!!!), but i am not sure where right now.

this has been a very difficult decision for me, but i think it is the right one. i'll be coming back on sunday or monday to pickup the rest of my things from the dorm and to say goodbye. carrie is also insisting that i come up and visit often... which i do plan to do.

please understand that i love you all, and this is the hardest thing i have ever done... but i think it is the right thing for me, and i need to get well.

alright...

i had a great day today... if only my nose would stop running! Sabbath was wonderful. my family went out for brunch before we went to church. then i came home for a bit afterward before going over to Mike and Alix's. they had some great news today, they had their offer on a house approved! they are soon to be homeowners! i'm so happy for both of them. we hung out and watched "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" with Vic and Bev. then Mike took me home.

he's a lucky guy. Alix is just an amazing woman, and they are a perfect fit. they are absolutely loving, and yet they open up, they welcome other people in, they're just a wonderful married couple! what a blessing to have great friends! i hope when i'm married people will feel comfortable around my husband and me. i know that i wish that i could have a true relationship with my sister and brother-in-law... but for them there is no room for anyone else. it is a jealous love. if she is around someone else (ANYONE ELSE) he gets upset, and vice versa. it breaks my heart.

but anyways...

it was great to talk to mike on the way home. kinda like 'ol times.

now i'm thinking about going back to the dorm tomorrow (blah), and seeing him hopefully very soon. okay... so it is more about him than the dorm... but what can i say?

ANYWAY

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Love and forgive them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spent years building, they may destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow top dogs;
Fight for some underdogs anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous and scorn;
Be joyous anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you help them;
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them, anyway.

Mood: cheerful

Spring break is finally here! i think i really needed some r&r. although, i am going to have to spend a good bit of time catching up on missed work, it is the change in environment that is what i am most thankful for. that dorm is driving me crazy!

last Sabbath was just wonderful, my friend from the academy (who graduated last year) came to church with me, and i *think* really liked it! it was so wonderful to see her again, and everyone keeps telling me how much they liked her. i pray she continues to come, because i know that everyone there will do their best to make it a home for her.

then yesterday (sunday) i spent a very relaxing (my way of disguising the word lazy) morning, and then went to the Rowland's for a get together. it was truly a blast, uncle vic and aunt bev, mike, alix, katherine, chris, mom, shannon, tim, cherie, ken, lori, and i all had such fun! we fellowshipped, and played some games. now, i enjoy board games, every now and then, but they are so much more fun when it is with a group of people who know each other and are comfortable making fools of themselves in front of each other! (haha, and boy oh boy did we!!!)

then when i got home last night i got online, briefly, and got to talk to Amanda, whom i haven't gotten to talk to in ages!

i also ended up getting some emails i was not expecting, and they just made my day!
